Hello! Hello! I'm Tonia Sanders. I am an actress and model in Central Florida. I have been acting...all of my life! Ha. Ha. Ha. On the same note, I've been modeling all my life, too...in the mirror! Yes, I'm full of jokes. Seriously, though, I've always dreamed of modeling and knew I wanted to be on TV. I eventually did get on TV and radio at the University of Florida. I was a news anchor, reporter, and photographer for WUFT-TV. I also had my own news show, was assistant producer, and a reporter at two of UF's radio stations. I even ventured off-campus to be part of a morning radio show. It was after graduating UF in '98 that the modeling and acting started to happen. I moved to Central Florida, signed with a few agencies, started taking classes, and "took off."
I began slowly with auditions, convention work, promotions, and some plain old networking. In 2000, I attended the International Model and Talent Association's Convention in Los Angeles. I received 9 callbacks and I was ecstatic! Back in Florida, I started modeling for Universal Studios, Hard Rock Hotel, Reliant Media Corp., and most recently, for the Home Shopping Network. I also stay busy with promotional modeling and convention work. I would like to get into fitness and catalog modeling as well. I have many modeling avenues I would like to venture into...no nudity, please!
I am also enjoying my acting success. I have worked on American Express and Halifax Mortgage commercials, been featured in the TV show SHEENA and a pilot THE MARIONETTE, and the movie SNOW DOGS with Cuba Gooding, Jr. Most recently, I played 2 roles in a Discovery Channel Documentary. I owe much of this success to my classes over the past 4 years.
I am currently in a Film Scene Study class at Art's Sake in Winter Park, FL. This is my second class with Yvonne Suhor at Art's Sake. I've also taken classes with Ashley Camille's Model and Talent School, ABN Model and Talent School, L.A. Manager Michael Cushman, comedian Bernadette Carter, and Barbizon. Of course, these classes and teachers have brought me far, but my success with modeling and acting also comes from myself and the love and support all around me. I will always appreciate what comes to me no matter how big or small. I can look back even now at 28 and have a sense of accomplishment with all that I've done.
